NJSIAA fails to assign Wildwood consolation game

The Wildwood High School football team had its season ended by a telephone call Monday afternoon. The NJSIAA, citing an odd number of playoff non-qualifiers, told the school it could not assign it a game this weekend. Since Wildwood does not play a Thanksgiving week contest, the Warriors' season is now complete at 0-8.

The two other local high school football teams will play consolation contests this weeked. In Group II, Middle Township (2-6) will travel to Haddonfield (3-5) Friday evening, while Lower Cape May (0-8) will go to Camden (0-8) on Saturday afternoon.

You can read more about Wildwood's plight in this week's editions.
