Wildwood girls are South Jersey champs! LCM falls to Ocean City

The Wildwood High School girls basketball team won its fifth South Jersey Group I title this decade and eighth in program history Monday night, beating Salem, 47-38, at Southern Regional High School.

Wildwood led almost from start to finish, save for a brief moment in the second quarter when Salem held a one-point edge.

Wildwood moves on to play in the state semifinal game Wednesday night at Deptford High School.

In the Group III South Jersey championship game, Ocean City used a big third quarter to pull away and beat Lower Cape May, 58-39.

Ocean City will also play in a state semifinal game Wednesday night at Deptford.

We'll have much more on these stories, including video, shortly.
